The only thing more fun than finding a perfectly delicious book is forcing all your friends to read it as well. (Don’t ask my friends if I am annoying this way; I already know the answer.) Anyway, I think my friends’ “To-Read” lists are all quite long enough, so there’s nothing left to do but take to the World Wide Web and find strangers to read my books.<\/p>\n

So, in that spirit, I’d like to give these books away to three deserving people.\u00a0They are all lovely used volumes, and my relationship with them is as follows:<\/p>\n

Mansfield Park:\u00a0 This is oddly one of my favorite of Jane Austen’s books. The story drew me in much more than some of her more popular ones, and if you like Austen but haven’t tried this one, I’d recommend it. However, the movie is not so great. Fannie is always pouting and moping about corners, and it drives me a little nuts, but the book is much better, in my opinion.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Garlic and Sapphires: Oh boy, where do I start? I’m not sure but that this book is solely to blame for my obsession with food memoirs. It’s the story of Ruth Reichl who moved to NYC to be a food editor for the New York Times. However, she quickly discovered that restaurant owners were offering rewards to the servers who spotted her so they could give her the best service, so she had to get crafty. She created elaborate disguises complete with full-blown characters to go along with them, and the book chronicles her adventures. Food, New York City, and awesome costumes. Do you see why I like the book? Also, if you want find yourself inexplicably hungry for things like foie gras and octopus ink, this is the book for you. I know I’ve written about the book before<\/a>, and I probably will again, so brace yourselves. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Canterbury Tales: (Don’t tell anyone, but I haven’t read this. I know, it’s shocking. But it’s such a beautiful volume, and I thought maybe one of you all has been hankering to read it, or just wants a lovely old hardcover to make your bookshelf pretty.)<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n
