Have you ever read\u00a0Jabberwocky\u00a0<\/em>by Lewis Carroll? It’s full of gibberish and nonsense, yet somehow it makes sense, thanks to Carroll’s brilliant and imaginative brain. He even managed to invent a couple new words through it that stuck, and we still use “chortle” and “galumphing” today. Cool or what?\u00a0And at the risk of sounding childish, it’s one of my very favorite poems.<\/p>\n

Without further ado, I present to you…Jabberwocky<\/em>. Read it aloud if you please; it’s twice as fun that way.<\/p>\n

“Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
\nDid gyre and gimble in the wabe;
\nAll mimsy were the borogoves,
\nAnd the mome raths outgrabe.<\/p>\n

`Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
\nThe jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
\nBeware the Jubjub bird, and shun
\nThe frumious Bandersnatch!\u2019<\/p>\n

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
\nLong time the manxome foe he sought \u2014
\nSo rested he by the Tumtum tree,
\nAnd stood awhile in thought.<\/p>\n

And as in uffish thought he stood,
\nThe Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
\nCame whiffling through the tulgey wood,
\nAnd burbled as it came!<\/p>\n

One, two! One, two! And through and through
\nThe vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
\nHe left it dead, and with its head
\nHe went galumphing back.<\/p>\n

`And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
\nCome to my arms, my beamish boy!
\nO frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!
\nHe chortled in his joy.<\/p>\n
